Description and Main Topics
At London School of Ultrasound we believe that majority of clinically important fetal anomalies can be diagnosed by expert scan in the 1st trimester. The 4th Early Fetal Scan Conference summarise our 22 years’ experience in the early and timely detection, counselling, and management of congenital defects.
For the first time the delegates will be introduced to the 1st TRIMESTER VIRTUAL ENCYCLOPEDIA – the detailed list of the all included detectable anomalies and conditions, described at 10-14 weeks. That will make the 4th EFS Conference the most comprehensive ever event, fully dedicated to this topic.
During 4 days of the Conference we are going to discuss more than 222 anomalies, their clinically important types, chromosomal and genetic syndromes, anatomical variations, markers, signs, and other conditions.
The format of the 4th Early Fetal Scan Conference will be very straightforward, clear and practical.
Each anomaly/condition will be introduced, using the following pragmatic approach:
- Name of condition (synonyms)
- Definition and/or description
- HIGH QUALITY VIDEO CLIP(S)
- Additional imaging (if needed)
- Earliest gestational age of manifestation
- HOW TO DETECT (diagnosis)
- WHAT TO DO (management)
Please note that at the Conference will be discussed conditions, that can be diagnosed by the specially trained specialists in fetal medicine, perinatology (or other related specialty) using high end ultrasound technology.
Important to information: some of the defects, included in the program, can not be detected on the routine screening level by general obstetricians, radiographers or sonographers. We are also aware that in some circumstances the described anomalies can have no manifestation in the first trimester and will be detectable only in the 2nd – 3rd trimesters or even after birth.
Time management: It is understandable that it will be challenging task to deliver such an enormous amount of information and knowledge within that short time period (just 4 days). The program, when it will be published, will be a subject for further improvements and changes. Some sessions can be prolonged above the time schedule. We do not exclude possibility that additional day(s) of the Conference may need to complete the program.
