10 Weeks Scan Symposium Description

THE 10 WEEKS SCAN CONCEPT represent state-of the-art development of fetal medicine. Advanced ultrasound technology allows us to detect structural anomalies when the size of the fetus is as small as 30 mm. The development of high definition ultrasound coincided with recent advances of clinical genetic and emergence of cfDNA based NIPT.  Global implementation of NIPT has changed the time scale of screening for chromosomal anomalies to 9-10 weeks making the 11-13 weeks approach obsolete.

We believe that it is inappropriate to perform NIPT without detailed check for anatomy of the early fetus by ultrasound. Early anomaly scan at 10 weeks can detect many structural anomalies and other conditions in which use of NIPT would be clinically unacceptable.

THE 10 WEEKS SCAN SYMPOSIUM will review all the aspects of new pragmatic approach for 1st trimester scan. This educational event is specially designed to practicing doctors, specialists in fetal medicine and specialists sonographers.

We will discuss ONLY PRACTICAL approach, challenges and controversies. As usual we will illustrate our approach by high quality videos of fetal anomalies and 3D imaging.
