The aim of the course is to provide ultrasound professionals with substantial skills and knowledge to facilitate an early diagnosis of the heart diseases.

This course covers a wide range of topics including detailed demonstration of the major groups of cardiac abnormalities and a logical approach to assessment of the fetal heart. Specific areas include scanning the heart in fetuses with chromosomal/genetic syndromes and extracardiac fetal anomalies. There will also be a focus on genetic basis of the cardiac malformations and genetic syndromes that can be diagnosed in pregnancy. Aside from recognition of abnormalities sessions will include counselling following prenatal diagnosis and associated abnormalities.

This course will enhance your diagnostic and clinical skills when evaluating fetuses with high risk of congenital heart defects. This course is primarily aimed at obstetric and cardiac sonographers, fetal medicine and COGU sub specialists and paediatric cardiologists.
